Pashmina Care Guide
Your pashmina will last a lifetime — if you treat it kindly
Pashmina is one of the most durable natural fibres in the world, but it rewards gentle handling. Follow these simple guidelines and your piece will remain as beautiful in twenty years as it is today.
Cleaning
Dry clean only. This is the only way to clean our pashminas and scarves, whatever the weave, weight or finish. Please do not hand wash, machine wash or soak them — pashmina and the silk threads used in our embroidery can shrink, distort or lose their lustre once wet, and that damage cannot be undone.
Take your piece to a dry cleaner and tell them it is pashmina or cashmere so they can choose the right process. Between cleans, most marks lift with nothing more than a gentle shake and a few hours hanging in fresh air — pashmina resists odour far better than most fibres, so it needs cleaning much less often than you might expect.
Storing
Store your pashmina folded (not hung) in a breathable cotton bag. Keep it away from direct light and place a cedar block nearby to protect against moths.
Pilling
All pashmina will pill slightly with regular wear. This is not a defect — it is simply the nature of the fibre. Remove pills gently with a cashmere comb on the lowest setting.
